William Franklin Brown of Fountaintown, NC went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday, May 27, 2022 at the age of 75 at New Hanover Hospital.  He passed peacefully with his family surrounding him.

Franklin was born in New Hanover County to Stedman and Nettie Brown and was raised in Fountaintown.  He was the youngest of three boys.

He worked at Camp Lejeune for 35 years and retired in 2001.  In his younger days, he so enjoyed bass fishing and deer hunting.

Franklin was Daddy to two children, Kimberly and Van and Papa to Victoria, Kassidy, Logan, Jeremy and Matthew.  He was (Great) Papa to Cheyenne, Mackenna, Chloe, Emry, Isla and Olly.  The entire family lives within five miles of each other and for almost 30 years, most of the family enjoyed an awesome week of vacation together at Madeira Beach, Florida.

Franklin's fight with cancer began in 2009 and from then until the end, he had several different kinds and many surgeries. He fought a good fight and finally won the battle Friday afternoon.  His wife, Frances, of 56 years was by his side all along the way.

After diagnosed with angiosarcoma, he started his woodworking hobby in his shop where he built many pieces of furniture for the family and others.  The workshop was a blessing in that it gave him a reason to get out of the house and kept him busy until the last few years.

Franklin was proud of and loved his family and church.  He was the type of person you couldn't help but love.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to Bethlehem Freewill Baptist Church at Fountaintown or St Judes Children's Hospital, NC
