Heaven welcomed another Marine.  Thomas Lloyd Rowell, 68, left us on May 14 ^th , 2022, after a long, hard battle.  He was stubborn that way, he wasn't going without a fight.

Tom was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps, serving from 1972 to 1993.   He provided many roles during his 21 years in the USMC, but he would tell you he was a cook.

Tom loved too much to list, but among his favorites were golf, gardening (especially bonsai), Stevie Nicks, a cold beer, and Halloween – his birthday.  Tom was the guy who gave out the king-sized candy bars before it was trendy.  Had had the best decorations in the neighborhood and kids from around the block would come by to sing him happy birthday and deliver handmade birthday cards, which made Tom grin from ear to ear.

Tom could sit at a table of strangers and leave with a table of friends.  That man could talk and tell story for hours.  Tom loved a good prank, but most of all he loved his family and rejoiced in bragging about them.

Tom was proceeded in death by his mothers, Irene and Rose; his father, Lloyd; his brother James; and his son-in-law, Eric.

Tom is survived by his wife, Milly, his best friend and soulmate; his daughter Jennifer/(Shawn), who matched him in stubborn debate; his daughter Tiffany, devoted and a continuous survivor; grandson August, his constant buddy;  grandson Zackary, his favorite drummer; and his big, good boy, Sam.  Tom is also survived by his sisters Mary/(Bob), Chris, Cathy, Pauline; brother Alex/(Anna); nieces Dawn, Becky/(Robert), Amanda, Raegan/(Scot), Dominique; nephews Robert and Lloyd.

Service arrangements will be announced to family and friends.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Atlanta Humane Society.
