Shirley Thigpen Murphy, of Pink Hill passed away Monday, October 4, 2021 at Vidant Duplin Hospital.

She is preceded in death by a son, David Murphy.

A visitation will be held Friday, October 8, 2021 from 12:00-1:00 pm at Community Funeral Home, Beulaville.

A funeral service will begin at 1:00 pm with interment to follow at East Duplin Memorial Park.

Shirley is survived by her husband, Aubrey Murphy of Pink Hill; daughter, Cathy Murphy Hobbs (Billy) of Clinton; sisters, Vernell Basden of Beulaville and Evelyn Basden of Beulaville; brother, W.D. Thigpen of Beulaville; grandchildren, Kevin Gene Crissey (Brittany), Michael Ray Cottle and Murphy Allen Cottle and great-grandchildren, Raegan Crissey and Rylee Crissey.
