K. Arlene (Witmer) Martin was born November 18, 1936 in Hinkletown, Lancaster County, PA to Paul & Irene Witmer. When she was 7 years old her family moved to Lebanon County, PA.
When she was a youth she gave her life to serve the Lord and was baptized. When she was 19 she married Norman Z. Martin on March 24, 1956. They moved to Allentown, PA for 2 years where Norman served in 1W service.
They were blessed with 9 children. Our parents faced various hard choices that could affect the eternal destiny of their children. We as a family appreciate the godly heritage they have given to us.
In May of 1976 the family moved to Upstate New York and bought a dairy farm. Then in July of 1985 the family moved to Pantego, NC.
On March 13, 1990, after nearly 34 years of marriage, our Daddy was called to his eternal home very expectantly of a heart attack. A few days later Mom"s mother, Irene, also passed away.
Choosing to bless others in spite of her grief, Mom sewed many things for the grandchildren and she made many lovely quits and dollies. She also cooked many yummy meals and baked lots of cookies.
She took classes to paint and spent many hours painting beautiful pictures with scripture verses on them. She really enjoyed working in her lovely flowerbeds and garden as well.
Due to symptoms of dementia starting to set in, the family decided to move Mom and Phillip to Beulaville, NC in the summer of 2019. After 4 years the family built her a tiny house and placed it in LaMar & Racher Remer's backyard.
This made it convenient for the extended family to help with her care. She greatly enjoyed interacting with the great-grandchildren when the granddaughters took their turn to care for her.
She was a member of Cedar Fork Mennonite Church and her love for her Heavenly Father is a legacy we all treasure.
Left to cherish her memories;
