J oyce Faye Sholar Mobley passed peacefully on Tuesday, December 7, 2021, shortly after celebrating her 90 ^th birthday.

Known lovingly as Joyce Faye or Pug, Joyce was a lifelong resident of Beulaville and the daughter of the late Kermit Lee Sholar, Jr. and Martha Williams Sholar. Joyce was married to Winfred (Wink) Eugene Mobley for 62 years until his death in 2009. Joyce was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother and a faithful servant of the Lord. Joyce was also a skilled gardener, amazing cook, and talented quilter. She worked tirelessly for the benefit of her family, friends, and community. Joyce was petite in stature but a giant in love, compassion, and strength.

Joyce leaves behind her daughters, Barbara Jean Mobley of New Bern, Martha Mobley Proctor and husband Wendell of Clinton; two grandchildren, Heather Matthews and husband Nicholas of Clinton, Kristen (Nikki) Proctor and husband Casey Justice of Emerald Isle; three great-grandchildren, Jered, Dillon, and Camden; brother-in-law William (Billy) Wayne Mobley and wife Kathy; and sister Grace Albertson and husband Charles. Special thanks to Jo Wheeler, who helped make Joyce's life more enjoyable.

In addition to her husband and parents, Joyce was preceded in death by her brother, Kermit Lee Sholar, Jr.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Beulaville Presbyterian Church, 205 East Main Street, Beulaville, NC 28518.

Visitation will be Monday, December 13 at 10:00 AM at Community Funeral Home in Beulaville, NC with a memorial service at 11:00 AM. Burial will follow at East Duplin Memorial Gardens.
