Jo seph Eugene McGowan, age 77, died in his Raleigh, NC home on February 17, 2021.

Joe was the youngest of ten children, born to Vincent and Anna (Dorney) McGowan.

He was born in Hooversville, PA, and after high school, he moved to the Washington, DC area and began his long career in the printing industry. Joe moved to North Carolina, with his wife and daughter, in the 70s.  He worked hard and loved his family. He sought to help others when he could.  Over the years his family grew as people were drawn to his caring heart.  He will be deeply missed.

Joe is survived by his sister Patricia Bartek of Johnstown, PA, and his daughter and son-in-law, Joanne and Stephen Scheid.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Annette (Jackson) McGowan; his first wife Joan (Ferchalk) McGowan; his parents; brothers, Jack, Bill, Vince, Jim, Danny; sisters Elizabeth Lantzy, Maryann Kaminsky, and infant sister Rosemary.
