Jerry Ann was born to Dockie and Mae Sandlin on March 5th, 1938. She was the 4th born out of 5 children.
Jerry Ann was raised in Beulaville, NC. A bright child with an eye on a successful future, Jerry Ann excelled in school. She was involved in many clubs and service at Beulaville High School. She served on student government all 4 years, she was in the Beta club, a bus driver, an aid to the principal and she was voted Best Looking and Best Dressed. Those who knew her knew Jerry Ann was just as beautiful on the inside and she was on the outside. Jerry Ann was a graduate of ECU. After graduation, she went on to pursue a teaching career. She began her career at Beulaville Elementary and moved to Holloway Street Elementary in Durham, NC. She loved her career choice and was no doubt an asset to the children who had the privilege of having her teach them. She dedicated over 30 years of her life to teaching children. Jerry Ann used any opportunity to pass along some education to her nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. She would present them with pencils for Christmas with their name engraved on them.

Her absence will be felt by those of us left without her. But there is no doubt she is enjoying being with her Savior and being reunited with the many family members that went before her.
