Our beloved Evelyn Frances Futrell Whaley, 62 of Richlands NC went to be with our Lord and Savior Jesus February 5th 2025.

Frances was born on March 5th 1962 to Alvis Warren (Ned) and Nina Futrell in Jacksonville, NC. She attended Coastal Carolina Community College completing her degree and securing a career working at the Naval Hospital Camp Lejeune in Jacksonville, NC.

Marrying her true love in 1977,James together they raised two sons. She was a devoted member of Baysden Chapel Church, Richlands NC

. Frances was predeceased by her father Alvis Warren (Ned)Futrell.

She is survived by her mother Nina Futrell, Husband of 48 years James Ray Whaley, two sons Joshua James [Jay] (Gina) Whaley, and Michael Ray (Cierra) Whaley. Five grandchildren Logan Whaley, Jaydon Whaley, Vann Whaley, Morgan Whaley and Olive Andrews, two sisters Debbie Harris (Ken) and Donna Jones.

Frances was a big personality in a dynamite package spiced with a bit of sarcasm if she wanted to joke with you just a bit. She lived her life to the fullest making an impact on those who knew her. She was kind, loving and could be a spitfire with those of us that appreciated it. Some of her greatest joys was witnessing people giving their life to the Lord, Her husband, children, grandchildren and family. Frances also leaves behind a brokenhearted group of relatives including nieces, nephews, brother and sister in laws who always loved her as a sister as well as countless friends and prayer warriors.

Services will be held at Baysden Chapel Church Wednesday February 12th at 7:00 pm with graveside service Thursday February 13th at 11:00am at the Whaley Cemetery on Parker Road. Visitation will follow the service at Baysden Chapel Church.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to Baysden Chapel Church.
