Obituary

Linwood Elton Blizzard, 81, of Beulaville passed away after a lengthy battle with Crohn's Disease on Wednesday, February 17, at Vidant Duplin Hospital in Kenansville.


A private service was held February 23 with Rev. Sam Sumner officiating. Interment at East Duplin Memorial Gardens.
Elton was preceded in death by his wife, Lucille Hill Blizzard; parents, Oscar Blizzard and Annie Hill Blizzard; sisters, Evelyn B. Kennedy and Mary Ellen Blizzard; brothers, Lealon Elwood Blizzard and Lemuel Thomas Blizzard; and beloved pets, Paulie and Jack.
Elton was a long-time steel worker/welder working for many years in Wilmington. He later worked in maintenance for Duplin County, KFC, and Quail Hollow II Apartments.
Survivors:  daughter, Renee' Williams and husband Dennis of Sevierville, TN; grandchildren, Meagan Williams and Benjamin Williams of Sevierville TN, Forrest Williams and wife Audrey of Richlands, Spencer Williams and wife Brittany of Seven Springs, and Gary Williams of Clinton; great grandchildren, Ava Williams and Oliver Williams of Richlands; sister, Carolyn Faye Lanier and husband Herman of LaGrange; brother, Lonnie Blizzard and wife Faye of Pink Hill; sister-in-law, Kay Alkire and husband Bill of New Bern; nieces, Rhonda Richardson and husband Wayne of Kinston, Lynette Hill of New Bern, Theresa Hill Kraft of New Bern, Sandy Whaley and husband Homer of Beulaville; nephews, Wade Kennedy of Cary, Ronnie Melton and wife Dawn of Kinston, and Linwood Hill Jr. and wife Megan of Florence, Mississippi; numerous cousins and other relatives.
