Durwood Watkins, 76, left to go live with Jesus on May 18, 2021.

Born to the late John "Ander" and Lilar Maready Watkins on Ocotober 31,  1944

He is preceded by his parents, a brother, James Ervin Watkins and sister, Myrtle Cannon.

Durwood was a retired farmer. He grew tobacco, corn and soybeans he also had a turkey farm.  He was a good Daddy. He was loved and will be missed immensely.

He taught us kids to never take what we have for granted.  He taught us to see the value in everything we have.  He was a hard working farmer, he always made sure our family was taken care of.  He was stern and strict, but we realized as we got older, he was just being protective.  He was set in his ways, ways that we felt were "old fashion", but now that we're older we tend to mimic his ways.  He was very knowledgeable, and extremely wise.  He always made wise decisions that benefited his children.  He was proud of each of us "four", but his Grandchildren were the apple of his eye! Our Daddy never wanted to stand in the spotlight, he preferred to stand in the shadows.  He made us who we each are today. He may be gone, but he will never be forgotten.  We will always wonder if he ever knew that he was our hero.
