Donald Clayton Loomis, 80,  of Potters Hill passed away on Friday, July 28, 2023, at The Service League of Greenville after a long battle against cancer.

Don left his home in Newport Beach, California, where his love for water began, to attend N.C.
State on a swimming scholarship. At State he was the varsity swimming team captain and All American
swimmer. After graduaton, he spent years in Greenville, S.C. as a swimming coach and teacher. Later, he
moved to a farm in Pott ers Hill.

Don was a proud father and coach. He enjoyed attending the actvites for his children,
grandchildren and students and was their biggest and loudest cheerleader. Don loved people and a good
day was spending time leisurely talking and laughing.

Don was preceded in death by his daughter, Dr.  Terri Ann Loomis.
