Cecil R. Smith, 84, passed away after a long illness on January 2, 2023.

He was preceded in death by his parents Ida Mae and Mark Smith.

He was born in Beulaville, North Carolina and lived for many years in Wilmington, North Carolina, before moving to The Villages, Florida, in 2004.

He was a Mason at the Wilmington Lodge 319 and also a Shriner.  Golfing was one of his favorite hobbies for many years.

He leaves behind his loving partner of 18 years, Gerda A. Smith, his son, Kirk Smith of Wilmington, North Carolina, and daughter, Kelleigh Smith of Durham, North Carolina.  He also leaves behind his brother, Kenneth and sister-in-law June Smith, of Beulaville, North Carolina.  He had three grandchildren and two great great-grandchildren--all of North Carolina.  Also, family members who will miss him are: Eric, Gloely, Andrew, Matthew, Lauren, Abbi, Inge, Ron, and Lisa.

A Celebration of Life service was held in Florida on January 26, 2023, at the Rock of Ages Lutheran Church in Wildwood, Florida.

A graveside service will be held on February 3, 2023, at 4:00 PM at East Duplin Memorial Gardens, Beulaville, North Carolina.

Visitation will take place at the cemetery following the service.
