Obituary

Barbara Ann (Hall) Thomas, 75, of Munford, Tennessee, passed away peacefully on June 1, 2026, at Baptist Reynolds Hospice House in Collierville, Tennessee.

Barb was born and raised in Hi Hat, Kentucky, where she graduated from McDowell High School. She went on to work as a medical secretary in Kentucky and North Carolina for more than 30 years.

Barb was a devoted wife, mother, and friend whose unwavering faith in God guided every aspect of her life. She shared God’s love freely and generously with everyone she met. One of the ways she expressed her faith was through the simple gift of a wooden cross. Whether she met someone in a hospital waiting room, a grocery store, or during her own treatments, Barb never missed an opportunity to remind others that they were loved by God.

Even while facing her own health challenges, Barb continued to put others before herself. During hospital stays and treatments, she handed out countless wooden crosses to nurses, doctors, CNAs, and fellow patients, offering encouragement, hope, and a reminder of God’s presence. Her kindness touched the lives of many people, most of whom she never knew by name.

Barb shared more than 33 wonderful years of marriage with her beloved husband, Richard Thomas. Together, they built a life rooted in faith, love, family, and service to others. Their marriage was a testament to devotion and partnership through every season of life.

She is survived by her loving husband, Richard Thomas, of the home; her stepson, Rick Thomas of Selma, North Carolina; and extended family members Diane Adams, Mary Jenkins, Gary Mullins (Linda), and Terry Mullins (Kathy), all of Floyd County, Kentucky.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Hester Hall, and her sisters, Ernestine Hall and Sharon Kay (Hall) Robertson.

While her family mourns her passing, they find comfort in knowing that Barb’s pain has ended and that she is now in the presence of her Savior. Her faith never wavered, and she looked forward to the promise of eternal life.

Barb’s legacy lives on in the countless lives she touched through her compassion, generosity, and steadfast faith. Though she will be deeply missed, her family takes comfort in knowing this is not goodbye; it is simply, “See you later.”

A celebration of Barb’s life was held at First Baptist Church in Millington, Tennessee, on Thursday, June 4, 2026, at 5:00 p.m. Visitation with the family will be held from 3:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. prior to the service.

The family would like to thank the staff of Baptist Reynolds Hospice House for their care and compassion while caring for Barb. They would also like to thank their friends and the First Baptist Millington Church family for the many prayers, visits, and support during Barb’s illness.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you honor Barb’s memory by sharing kindness with others, offering words of encouragement, and remembering that even the smallest gesture can make a lasting difference.
